Dwarf Mulchi is native to the southern tip of North America, namely Costa Rica and Panama from the Myrtaceae family. The tree is slow growing but rather precocious flowering at just 4-5 years old and takes the form of a small bush if left to grow without pruning. The tree produces yellow 3cm. fruits with scant pulp which is sweet and a bity spicy.Fruits have longitudinal ridging and typically grow directly from the trunk or main branches, similar to the Jaboticaba The tree can produce multiple times per year after several years of production. The leaves are similar to Plinia inflata and Plinia edulis.
