Cabeluda/ Yellow Jaboticaba is a species of plant in the Myrtaceae family. A beautiful and valuable ornamental plant, cabelluda is a big shrub or small tree with numerous slender trunks. Young leaves and stems have pubescence. Perfect little white flowers grow in axillary clusters.
Round, pubescent, completely ripe fruits with one or two seeds and are one or two shades of yellow. Fruits from cabelludas are tasty. They look like huge gooseberries and have an apricot-like flavor that is sweet and aromatic. The fruits are exceptionally nutrient-dense and vitamin-rich.
