Jaboticaba Sabara /Plinia Cauliflora/Brazilian Grape tree, jaboticaba/ Jabuticaba, is a tree in the family Myrtaceae, native to the states of Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Goias, and Sao Paulo in Brazil. If given full sun and proper fertilization, ‘Sabara’ usually fruits in 6+ years whereas the standard Jaboticaba can take up to 10 years to fruit. Best of all ‘Sabara’ has 3 to 4 cycles of flowers and fruit each year. The shiny black fruit develops in clusters close to the woody stems and has a sweet pulp under the skin.
