Jaboticaba Caipirinha / Plinia Sp Caipirinha is known as Bonsai Jaboticaba due to its dwarf size and dense crown making it perfect for bonsai applications. In its natural habitat, it rarely grows taller than two metres but can expand up to six metres wide. For the first few years after planting, it develops at a rate akin to Plinia jaboticaba "Sabara," after which it slows down. With the exception of size, the species resembles Plinia jaboticaba "Sabara" in many ways. The fruit and leaves are roughly half to third the size of Sabara. It is believed that a certified botanist is now working on giving this species a valid botanical description and species name. It is believed to be indigenous to Minas Gerais's central-eastern region, Brazil, at elevations greater than 800 metres, in an area where the Atlantic Forest and the Cerrado coexist.

The fruits are globose with smooth, shiny black skin that is typical of jaboticaba and may have a small, transparent cross atop them. We want watery pulp with a strong sweetness to it.
