Plinia Coronata "Val-paraiso" Jaboticaba is from the Otto Andersen collection at Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The tree has an upright growth habit with a dense crown. The lanceolate leaves are 5-8 cm., glossy, and have pronounced central veins with nearly unnoticeable pinnate lateral veins. The huge sub-globose fruit can measure up to 4cm, have a thin skin, several medium-size seeds, and a pronounced crown at the apex measuring up to 1cm. diameter. The tree is an abundant producer of very sweet pulp with excellent flavor.
